Polish painter.
He received the highest honorary award at the exhibition "Polish Portrait" (1925). In 1936 he arranged a large anniversary retrospective exhibition of his works. In November 1937, he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Poland "for services in the field of art".
After the outbreak of World War II, he moved to Warsaw, where he died during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944.

In 1883-1886 he studied at the Krakow School of Fine Arts under the guidance of Vladislav Lushkevich and Jan Matejko. Then he went to Munich to continue his education in the studio of Shimon Holloshy (1888). He made trips to Italy and Hungary, where he got acquainted with the works of masters.
Since 1890 he lived in Lviv, where he began his artistic career, opened a studio.
After the outbreak of the First World War, he moved to Zakopane, where he lived from 1914 to 1921 and exhibited his work at the Union of Artists during the war. Then he settled in Poznan. In 1925 he became a member of the Committee of the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
