Almetyevsk is a city in Russia founded on November 3, 1953, the administrative center of the Almetyevsk district of Tatarstan, Almetyevsk is the fourth largest city in the Republic of Tatarstan in terms of population and importance.
The city is located in Zakamye, on the slopes of the Bugulma-Belebeevskaya Upland, on the left bank of the Zai River, 265 km southeast of Kazan, 13 km from the Almetyevskaya railway station. The area of the city is about 42 square kilometers.
Almetyevsk is located 39 km from Leninogorsk and its largest Romashkinskoye field in the Volga-Ural province in the south of Tatarstan. To date, the Romashkinskoye field is one of the largest oil fields in the world.
