Blokhin Nikolai Nikolaevich

Nikolai Nikolaevich Blokhin was active in scientific and social activities. He was rector of the Gorky Medical Institute, Academician of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, member of the Polish and New York Academies of Sciences. He was elected President of the Medical Academy of Sciences of the USSR, General Director of the All-Union Cancer Center, Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of eight convocations, Chairman of the Committee on International Lenin Prizes. The best doctors are awarded the N. N. Blokhin gold medal for the development of oncological science.
