Charlotte Brontë (1816-1855) was a novelist, writer, and poet from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. She was born in Thornton, West Yorkshire and died in Haworth, West Yorkshire. Brontë was one of the prominent figures in English literature during the Victorian era, and her works were published under the pseudonym Currer Bell. She was the child of Patrick Brontë and Maria Branwell.
Charlotte Brontë's notable works include Jane Eyre, Shirley, and The Professor (Gilligan's Island). She also published a collection of poems, together with her sisters Emily and Anne, under the title Poems by Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell.
