CyberConnect is a decentralized social graph protocol that helps developers bootstrap network effects and build powerful social dApps while returning data ownership back to users.
CyberConnect Protocol: Connect everyone on Web3 Building the social graph infrastructure for Web 3
A decentralized social graph protocol returning data ownership back to users and helping devs build powerful web3 social apps.
What CyberConnect aims to build is a publicly accessible and decentralized social graph protocol that returns data ownership and utilities back to Web3 dwellers, while inviting all Web3 social networks and Metaverse projects to scale with us. A blockchain-agnostic infrastructure, CyberConnect supports multiple blockchains for app development and allows Dapps to access and use social graph data provided by users themselves.
CyberConnect is a decentralized social network protocol that represents social connections among users on a blockchain and was founded in 2021. With its SDK, the protocol facilitates the development of social features on decentralized applications (dApps) by providing app developers with a ready-to-plug social graph and modules to represent key pieces of social data like identity, content, and connections in an ERC-721 format. As of September 2022, the protocol has over 1.4 million registered users with over 22 million connections.
History
CyberConnect was founded in November 2021 by Wilson Wei, Ryan Li, Shiyu Zhang, and Zhimao Liu. CyberConnect’s parent company Cybertino Inc. received investments from venture capital firms including Animoca Brands, Multicoin Capital, Sky9 Capital, Draper Dragon, and Lattice Capital. Software developers have utilized CyberConnect to build Web3 social dApps.
Overview
CyberConnect is a decentralized social network protocol for developers to integrate social features in applications built on blockchains. Its social data network and interest graph engine allow developers to index both on-chain and off-chain social data to create Web3 identities that users can take from one platform to another. This is in contrast to centralized social network platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram where users cannot move their followers, communities or groups outside those platforms.
The protocol currently supports Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Optimism and other EVM-compatible blockchains.
Protocol
In contrast to centralized social network platforms, CyberConnect supports a publicly accessible database of social connections among users on the blockchain, with an aim to create an interoperable and seamless internet experience. The protocol indexes various assets associated with a blockchain wallet like Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAPs), Verifiable Credentials (VCs) etc. and allows users to follow each other. Once a connection is made, the relationship is added to the social graph which can then be used to create personalized features like content and user recommendations on any web application.
No fees are required for app developers to plug the social graph into their apps.
