He was born on October 17, 1967 in Moscow in the family of a student Sergei Peskov, later a Soviet and Russian diplomat.
Dmitry's father worked in Arab countries - Egypt, Libya, the UAE, and Dmitry changed several schools, alternating between studying at home and abroad.
In 1983, he graduated from Moscow special School No. 1243 with an in-depth study of English. After graduating from high school, on the second attempt, he entered the Institute of Asian and African Countries (ISAA) at Moscow State University.
While studying at the ISAA, he was drafted into the army (the deferral of students in those years was canceled in almost all universities), where he fell ill with pneumonia, after which he was released from service.
