Erik Davidovich Kituashvili

Erik Davidovich Kituashvili is a famous video blogger, street racer, founder of the site smotra.ru. In February 2016, he was arrested on charges of fraud on an especially large scale (obtaining insurance on false documents), as well as slandering employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to Eric's supporters, he is being persecuted for the fact that Davidich repeatedly disclosed in his videos the facts of giving and receiving bribes by police officers.

On October 19, 2018, he was sentenced by the court of first instance to 4 years and 8 months in prison for car insurance fraud. The Moscow City Court, which considered the appeal in this case, in December 2018 decided to release Davidich from custody, recognizing that the statute of limitations had expired on a number of episodes, and on others he had already served time in a pre-trial detention center.
