Ernst Leonard Lindelöf (born March 7, 1870, in Helsinki, Finland) was a mathematician known for his contributions to the field of mathematics. He held citizenship in the Russian Empire and Finland and was educated at the University of Helsinki and the University of Göttingen.
Some of Lindelöf's most notable works are Lindelöf space, Picard–Lindelöf theorem, Phragmén–Lindelöf principle, Lindelöf hypothesis, and Lindelöf's theorem. His doctoral advisor was Hjalmar Mellin.
Lindelöf supervised numerous doctoral students during his career, including Rolf Nevanlinna, Lars Ahlfors, Felix Iversen, Vilho Väisälä, Pekka Myrberg, Frithiof Nevanlinna, and Johan Helo.
He was the son of Lorenz Leonard Lindelöf, and he passed away on June 4, 1946, in Helsinki, Finland.
