Generali Osiguranje (Serbian Cyrillic: Генерали Осигурање) or Generali Osiguranje Srbija, is a Serbian insurance company based in Belgrade, Serbia. It is the second largest insurance company in the Serbian insurance market, offering all types of insurance. It is owned by the Italian insurance company Assicurazioni Generali through its subsidiary Generali CEE Holding B.V. from the Netherlands.
The company was founded on 24 July 1998 in Belgrade, FR Yugoslavia, under name "Delta Osiguranje", as part of the Serbian holding company Delta Holding. In March 2006, the company changed its name to "Delta Generali", after the Italian insurance company Assicurazioni Generali bought more than 50% of shares from Delta Holding, and became the majority shareholder of the company. At the time of purchase, "Delta Osiguranje" had around 500,000 clients, 670 employees and annual premium income of 40 million euros.
In May 2014, Generali CEE Holding B.V. bought the remaining 49.98% of shares owned by Delta Holding in "Delta Generali". Following the purchase, the company changed its name to "Generali Osiguranje Srbija".
As of 2016, Generali Osiguranje with 55 branches in Serbia is the second largest insurance company in the Serbian insurance market, having more than 1.7 million clients. Generali Osiguranje has 19.5% (104.14 million euros) of non-life premium income market share and 30.1% (56.47 million euros) of life premium income market share in Serbia, making it a leader in life premium income.
