Girona Futbol Club

Spanish football club from the city of the same name in the province of the same name as part of the autonomous community of Catalonia. The club was founded in 1930 and plays home matches at the Montilivi stadium (capacity 13,500 spectators). Up until the 2016/17 season, the club had never played in La Liga. The best result is 10th place in the 2017/18 season.

The club was founded on July 25, 1930 in the cafe Norat on the basis of the defunct club UE Girona. The new team started playing in the second division of the Catalan championship and played their first match against could not return there for exactly 50 years.

At the end of the 2016/17 season, the team took second place in the Segunda and for the first time in its history reached the Example and played there for two seasons, after which they again dropped out of the Segunda.

On March 6, 2019, Girona won the match for the Catalan Super Cup
