Harold Williams

As a schoolboy, he was already fluent in Latin, Ancient Greek, Hebrew, French, German, Spanish, Italian, as well as Maori, Tongan, Fijian, Samoan. Williams has learned more than fifty languages in his lifetime.

He was born into the family of the head of the Australian Methodist Church and the editor of the Methodist Times. Due to his father's work, the family often moved. Since childhood, he was interested in various languages, communicated with Melanesians and Polynesians.
