Humane Genomics is building an AI-based process that turns genetic and other molecular information about a cancer into custom-made medicines. They are starting with engineered viruses for dog cancers. Humane made their first medicine, targeting canine osteosarcoma in 2016. In late 2017 they received a $500,000 seed grant from Deloitte Life Sciences and Health Care.The company collaborates with veterinarian Dr. Bruce Smith at Auburn University who previously worked with Autodesk and Gen9 to synthesize the longest virus in 2016 for his research focused on treating dogs with osteosarcoma.
