The project was launched in January 2018 by Jimmy Zhong, Terrence Wang, Justin Li, Ray Xiao, Sa Wang and Kevin Tan.
Zhong has more than one tech startup he founded in the US and China behind him. While at university, he sold his first company for $40 million. It was a marketplace where students could exchange class notes. After that, he returned to Beijing and became the founder of IOST among other projects.
In the past, Wang worked as a programmer for Uber. He received a degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota and a master's degree in computer science from Princeton University.
Lee previously worked as an investment banking advisor at Goldman Sachs and as a data analyst at Mobike. He received a diploma in applied mathematics and computer science. Meanwhile, Tang co-founded Ethercap and received a degree in computer science from Tsinghua University.
Xiao co-founded Dora, an AI company specializing in smart kiosks, with Jimmy and Sa. At university, he studied computer science and quantitative economics.
The IOST blockchain infrastructure is open source and designed with a focus on security and scalability. All in the hope that it will become the basis for online services in the future.
The project team developed a "proof-of-believability" consensus algorithm to ensure the security and efficiency of transactions on the network.
One of the biggest issues that IOST aims to address is that large companies may not be able to use blockchains in a customer-facing environment if they are not scalable. The Internet of Services Token (the full name of the Internet of Services Token project) is proposed as a solution to this problem.
To understand IOST, it is best to compare it with its closest competitors: Ethereum is the most popular smart contract platform for developers. It can also be compared to EOS and TRON, which are heavily used, highly scalable smart contract platforms.
The biggest difference between IOST and its competitors is that it is claimed to be able to process up to 100,000 transactions per second. For comparison, this number is 20 for Ethereum, 2000 for Tron and 4000 for EOS.
To achieve these transaction speeds, the IOST team has created a new blockchain architecture that introduces and integrates several innovations, including the Distributed Randomness Protocol, Efficient Distributed Sharding, TransEpoch, Atomix, Proof-of-Believability, and Micro state blocks.
IOST price today is ₽2.21 RUB with a daily trading volume of ₽4,648,400,956 RUB. We update our IOST to RUB price in real time. IOST is down .57 in the last 24 hours. The current CoinMarketCap rating is #130 with a market capitalization of RUB40,054,993,695. The circulating supply is 18,099,719,631 IOST coins and max
To compete with hundreds of niche blockchains, IOST relies heavily on its Proof of Likelihood (PoB) protocol and Efficient Distributed Sharding (EDS) to improve the scalability and security of its blockchain.
IOST is designed for corporate use. It is said to be able to handle the heavy workloads of big tech companies like Amazon, Google and Facebook. Partnerships seem to be key to the success of the project.
IOST can be bought on many exchanges such as Bittrex, CoinEx, Livecoin, Binance and Bitrue.
