Jakub Jurovych is a founder, CEO, and software engineer based in Prague, Czechia. Jurovych began founding his company, Deepnote, in early 2019 as a platform that allows users to collaborate while building machine learning models without having to set up a development environment.
Jurovych studied at two universities during the course of his higher education, Masaryk University and the University of Cambridge. At Masaryk University, he obtained a bachelor's degree in computer science. In Jurovych's time at Cambridge, he attained a master's degree in philosophy, studying machine learning, computer vision, and human-computer interaction.
After university, Jurovych took a job at Mozilla as a Firefox devtools engineer. After Mozilla, he went on to become the CTO of Unite, Inc in Prague. In 2015, Jurovych co-founded the program Hack Cambridge, which is the official hackathon event hosted yearly at the University of Cambridge. He left the program in 2016 for a position as the CTO of Operam, in Los Angeles. After two years in the role, he served as an advisor to the company before leaving to found Deepnote in 2019.
