João Moutinho is a Portuguese football player born on September 8, 1986, in Portimão, Portugal. He currently plays as a central midfielder for the Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers and the Portugal national team. His birth name is João Filipe Iria Santos Moutinho, and he holds Portuguese nationality.
Throughout his career, Moutinho has received numerous awards and honors. He was a Portuguese Champion three times (2010/11, 2011/12, and 2012/13) and won the Portuguese Super Cup twice in 2007 and 2008. In addition, he has been a Portuguese Cup winner twice (2006/07 and 2007/08), a Europa League Winner in 2010/11, and a French Champion in 2016/2017. Moutinho was also a part of the UEFA Nations League-winning team in 2018/19 and the European Champion team in 2016. Other accolades include being Porto Player of the Year, being awarded Commander of the Order of Merit, and winning multiple SJPF Player of the Month and Young Player of the Month awards.
