Italian politician and writer
Lorenzo de' Medici was born on January 1, 1449, in Florence and died on April 8, 1492. He held various occupations, such as a politician, writer, and poet. Lorenzo was a citizen of the Republic of Florence.
Lorenzo was the founder of the University of Pisa and the owner of Villa di Castello. He was the son of Piero di Cosimo de' Medici and Christina of Lorraine. Lorenzo's father, Ferdinando I de' Medici, was the Grand Duke of Tuscany.
Lorenzo de' Medici had several children, including Pope Leo X, Piero the Unfortunate, Giuliano de' Medici, Duke of Nemours, Maddalena de' Medici (1473–1528), and Lucrezia de' Medici (1470–1553).
