Luis J. Echarte Fernández (born 23 April 1945 in Havana, Cuba) is a businessman who has developed his career in different companies. Echarte is vice president and Director of International and Public Relations of Grupo Salinas, (Mexico).
At the beginning of his career, Echarte was president and CEO of Echarte Development Co. in Florida, US, where he managed a real estate development of more than three thousand residential housing units. His expertise in the international corporate world was particularly extensive when he was CEO and President of Bacardí Imports, Inc., where he implemented a worldwide strategy for Bacardi's five companies in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, and Central and South AmericaSouth America. Echarte also developed a range of new products and regional brands and expanded the company's market with extensive distribution agreements. Among the most important products he developed were Bacardi Tropical Fruit Mixers, which sold US$54 million a year and earned recognition from The Wall Street Journal as one of the best new products of 1986.
