Vladimir L. Mashkov (born November 27, 1963, Tula, Tula Region, RSFSR, USSR) is a Soviet and Russian actor and director of theater and film, screenwriter, film producer, and public figure. Artistic director of the Moscow Oleg Tabakov Theater (since April 6, 2018). Winner of the Nika (1998, 2011), Golden Eagle (2009, 2011, 2019), TEFI (2008); People's Artist of Russia (2010).

There are no such words in my vocabulary, "not my level," never in my life. I'm embarrassed right now. The thing is, it was a weird, half-assed thing. And they used my image from a John Moore painting called "Behind Enemy Lines." Here, they liked that kind of thing. I tried really hard, picking up the pieces of that hobo look. And they didn't tell me what it was at the time. Maybe I would have voiced it. I don't know. Well, it's interesting, part of the profession, but I'm not particularly keen on it. <...> I didn't even know it was me, didn't take it seriously.
