Max Delbrück

Max Delbrück was born on September 4, 1906, in Berlin, Germany. A geneticist and physicist by profession, Delbrück was educated at the University of Göttingen. He held dual citizenship in Germany and the United States.

Max Delbrück's father was Hans Delbrück, and he had a child named Tobias Delbrück. His doctoral advisor was Max Born, and Delbrück himself served as a doctoral advisor for Lily Jan.

In 1969, Max Delbrück received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He spent a significant portion of his life in Germany. Delbrück passed away on March 10, 1981, in Pasadena, California.
