Soviet and Uzbek singer, rock musician.
Nargiz Zakirova took part in the Jurmala song contest in 1986, received the Audience Award, and 10 years later, in the wake of the general emigration of the inhabitants of the former republics of the USSR, she moved to the United States. There she married Italian Philip Balzano, a native of Sicily, and raised three children: daughter Sabina (from Ruslan Sharipov), daughter Leila (from Philip Balzano) and son Auel (from Yernur Kanaibekov).
Nargiz gave birth to her eldest daughter, Sabina, at the age of 18. Sabina's parents were engaged in the upbringing of Nargiz, as she devoted herself to creativity. Sabina and her husband Vitaly are interested in esotericism and philosophy. Son Auel (born 1995) plays in the theater, studies in college as a director, dreams of becoming a critic. The youngest daughter Nargiz Zakirova Leyla (born 2000), although she loves to sing, is not going to practice vocals at a professional level.
On September 13, 2014, 44-year-old Nargiz became a grandmother: her daughter Sabina gave birth to her first child. Sabina and her husband Vitaly, who live in the United States, named their son the biblical name Noah. At the same time, Nargiz Zakirova stated that she was not going to baptize her grandson. The singer explained that this was not possible, as she and her family members adhere to the pagan faith.
