Ödön von Horváth (1901-1938) was a Hungarian-Austrian playwright and writer. He was born in Rijeka on December 9, 1901 and held citizenship in both Hungary and Austria. Von Horváth was educated at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His life ended tragically on June 1, 1938, on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
