Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), less commonly the "Tashkent Pact", " The Tashkent Treaty" is a regional international organization, the proclaimed goals of which are "strengthening peace, international and regional security and stability, protection on a collective basis of independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the member States, priority in achieving which the member States give political means".
The beginning of the CSTO was laid on May 15, 1992 by the signing of the Collective Security Treaty in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). The supreme body is the Collective Security Council (CSC), which appoints the Secretary General of the organization[8]. The total population of the CSTO member countries is 193,835,249 people (2021). The number of peacekeeping forces for 2022 is 3,600 people.
