Rade Šerbedžija is a Croatian actor, musician, theatre director, composer, film director, poet, singer, artist, and television personality . He was born on July 27, 1946 in Bunić, Croatia, and educated at the Academy of Dramatic Art at the University of Zagreb .

Šerbedžija holds citizenship in Croatia as well as the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia . Throughout his diverse career, he has worked in both Yugoslavia and Croatia, and identifies as a Croatian national .

Rade Šerbedžija is the father of Lucija Šerbedžija and Danilo Šerbedžija, both of whom share his artistic background.
