Ren Project is a protocol that anyone can work with without the need of any authorization, which allows users to anonymously interact and transfer tokens between blockchains. Ren Project does this through RenBridge, running on the Ren virtual Ren virtual machine (RenVM).

RenBridge makes it easy to represent cryptocurrencies from one network on other
networks. For example, bitcoin can be represented on the Ethereum network as a token
ERC-20 token if wrapped in renBTC. Using RenVM, the assets are converted to
to the format of the destination network in a 1:1 ratio, ensuring that
wrapped versions are always fully supported by the underlying asset.
While you use new wrapped tokens in other blockchains,
RenVM acts as a decentralized custodian of your original
assets, with the value of the linked REN maintained at three times the
the total value of the locked assets by shaping and burning them.
Darknodes nodes are constantly shuffled to ensure the smooth
RenVM operation, and additional layers of security, such as the implementation of the
RPZ MPC algorithm and algorithmically adjusted commissions, make attacking
hackers an extremely difficult task. In the unlikely event that an
attack, RenVM can recover the stolen funds.
