Sean O'Sullivan is a New Jersey-based entrepreneur who has experience in various industries including music, computer programming, venture capital, cinema, and more. He has founded several companies, including Carma, SOSV, INTERACTION X, HAX, MapInfo, NetCentric, Sonic Recording Studios, JumpStart International.
O'Sullivan was born in New York City and attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. In 2003, he earned a Master's of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California in the area of Film Production.
In 1984, O'Sullivan co-created the technology that is used to find street addresses on computers. With this technology, he co-founded the company MapInfo, which he owned until 1992 when he sold it. His next venture was NetCentric in 1994, which was a company that specialized in internet fax technology.
SOSV was also founded in 1994 by O'Sullivan. The company focuses on engineering innovation, start-up accelerators, various technology products. He co-founded his next company, Carma, in 2007 and specialized in high-occupancy vehicles for governments and private agencies.
O'Sullivan founded JumpStart International in 2003. The organization is a non-government organization specializing in aiding with the reconstruction of areas affected by war damage in Iran. He also founded Open Ireland in 2012, which aids with changing government policy in Ireland.
In addition to being a businessman, O'Sullivan has spent time as a cinematographer, cameraman, freelance journalist, singer, and songwriter.
