Type 1 Ventures is a San Francisco based venture capital firm. It was founded in the August 2019 by Tarek Waked and Justin Walker. The name of the firm was inspired by Soviet astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev's scale method for measuring a civilization's level of technological advancement and energy storage ability.
