Vladimír Remek

Vladimír Remek (born September 26, 1948, in České Budějovice) is a Czech politician, diplomat, aircraft pilot, astronaut, and military personnel. He was educated at the Gagarin Air Force Academy. Remek holds citizenship in the Czech Republic.

Over the years, he has received several awards, including the Order of Lenin, Hero of the Soviet Union, Order of Klement Gottwald, Medal "For Merit in Space Exploration", and Hero of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
