Vladimir Kotelnikov (1908-2005) was a Russian engineer, mathematician, astronomer, and politician born in Kazan. He was educated at Moscow Power Engineering Institute and Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Kotelnikov held citizenship in both Russia and the Soviet Union. His father was Aleksandr Kotelnikov.
Throughout his career, Kotelnikov received numerous awards, including the Lenin Prize, Hero of Socialist Labor, Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", Order of Lenin, Order of the October Revolution, Order of the Red Banner of Labour, Lomonosov Gold Medal, and Stalin Prize. He passed away in Moscow in 2005.
