Władysław Reymont (born May 7, 1867, Kobiele Wielkie) was a writer, novelist, and screenwriter from the Russian Empire as well as the Second Polish Republic. He is best known for his four-volume novel "Chłopi" (The Peasants), which earned him the 1924 Nobel Prize in Literature. Reymont also authored "Pielgrzymka do Jasnej Góry" (A Pilgrimage to Jasna Góra, 1895). He passed away on December 5, 1925, in Warsaw, Poland.
