Digitalswitzerland is a cross-industry initiative aiming to strengthen Switzerland as a leading global location for digital innovation. The initiative has more than 220 association members and non-political foundation partners working together to achieve this goal.
Digitalswitzerland addresses a variety of aspects of digitalization and is committed to solving the corresponding solving social, economic, and political challenges it entails. The initiative facilitates connections among its members across sectors including business, politics, academia, and civil society. Digitalswitzerland has more than fourteen active projects addressing a variety of pressing and future challenges.
Digitalswitzerland was founded by Marc Walder (CEO of the Ringier Group) in September 2015 as DigitalZurich2025, with a committee of fifteen members aiming to position the greater Zurich as an attractive location for digital startups, organizations, and talent. In September 2016 the initiative's mission expanded to serve the whole of Switzerland and make the country a leading digital hub.
