The BRIT AwardsThe BRIT Awards (often simply called the BRITs) are the British Phonographic Industry's annual popular music awards. The name was originally a shortened form of "British", "Britain", or "Britannia" (in the early days the awards were sponsored by Britannia Music ClubBritannia Music Club), but subsequently became a backronym for British Record Industry Trusts ShowBritish Record Industry Trusts Show. In addition, an equivalent awards ceremony for classical music, called the Classic BRIT Awards, is held in May. The awards were first held in 1977 and originated as an annual event in 1982 under the auspices of the British record industry's trade association, the BPI. In 1989, they were renamed The BRIT Awards.Mastercard has been the long-term sponsor of the event.
1990
The 1990 awards ceremony saw the last public appearance of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. Queen appeared at the ceremony to receive the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. Mercury (who had been suffering from AIDS since 1987 but had not disclosed it to the public) did not make a speech, as Brian May did the talking on behalf of the other members, but his gaunt appearance was noticeable.

Rising from Columbus, OhioColumbus, Ohio on the strength of a sizable grassroots following, Twenty One PilotsTwenty One Pilots cycled through lineups and styles before the core duo of Tyler JosephTyler Joseph and Josh DunJosh Dun made their mainstream breakthrough with their chart-topping fourth effort, 2015's Blurryface. Featuring the Grammy-winning single "Stressed Out" and its follow-up chart hit "Ride," the release was certified multi-platinum and became one of the year's best-selling albums in the world. Their 2018 follow-up, Trench, fared nearly as well, going platinum and peaking at number two. The band enjoyed a couple more chart-topping hits prior to their sixth album, 2021's Scaled and Icy.
Formed in 2009 by high school friends Tyler JosephTyler Joseph, Nick ThomasNick Thomas, and Chris SalihChris Salih, Twenty One PilotsTwenty One Pilots built an enormous regional following across Ohio and the Midwest, spurred on by constant and energetic touring, shrewd use of interactive social media, and connecting with fans on a grassroots level. The trio self-released their eponymous debut album of rap-infused, high-tech pop in December 2009 before ThomasThomas and SalihSalih left the band in 2011. Frontman Tyler JosephTyler Joseph recruited replacement drummer Josh DunJosh Dun and Twenty One PilotsTwenty One Pilots continued as a duo. Later that year, second album Regional at Best surfaced, the first with the new lineup.
Expanding their audience with a series of videos made by their friend Mark EshelmanMark Eshelman, the band's brand grew and caught the attention of the major labels. In 2012, they signed to Atlantic subsidiary Fueled by RamenAtlantic subsidiary Fueled by Ramen, releasing the Three Songs EP and working with Adele producer Greg WellsGreg Wells on Vessel, their debut album for the label. Vessel was released in January 2013 and featured the platinum singles "Holding on to You," "House of Gold," and "Car Radio."

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario in 1997. The band's original iteration was called "Groundswell" and played in various local Norwood back-yard parties and area establishments from 1993 to 1996.
Based in Toronto, the band's original line-up consisted of guitarist and lead vocalist Adam Gontier, drummer and backing vocalist Neil Sanderson, and bassist Brad Walst. In 2003, Barry Stock was recruited as the band's lead guitarist, making them a four-member band. In 2013, Gontier left the band and was replaced by My Darkest Days' vocalist Matt Walst, who is also the younger brother of Brad Walst.
2021
On March 1, 2021, the band confirmed that they were in the studio recording for their seventh studio album on Instagram.
On November 29, 2021, the band released a new single called "So Called Life" as the first single from their upcoming seventh studio album, Explosions, which is due to be released on May 6, 2022.
Three months later, on February 17, 2022, the band released their next single, titled "Neurotic", featuring Lukas Rossi.[citation needed] Along with the song releasing, the band released a lyric video of the new track.

The UK Music Video Awards is an annual celebration of creativity, technical excellence and innovation in music video and moving image for music. The awards began in 2008. There is a wide range of opportunities for UK individuals and companies to enter their work: from genre-led video categories, to prizes for individuals in the technical and craft areas of the business, to recognition for innovative approaches to music videos, ads and other visuals. There are also awards for international videos and outstanding individuals, voted for by the MVA jury members. The Awards take place in the autumn, with the entry process opening in early August. The UK MVA’s are originally the key members of the team behind BUG, the FBI Southbank’s music video strand, and have 20 years’ experience running events in the UK music video business.

Thomas Alexander Walker (born 17 December 1991) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He was trained at the stage school London College of Creative Media, and was given a contract soon after. He rose to fame after the release of his single "Leave a Light On", which peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart in June 2018.
Tom Walker, winner of the BRITs ‘British Breakthrough Act’ 2019, has taken the charts by storm this year. Without doubt Tom has established himself as a major voice in music with his honesty and passion. His plaintive, acoustic driven new single ‘Better Half Of Me’, is as stunning and addictive as previous certified Platinum hits ‘Leave A Light On’ And ‘Just You And I’ and looks set to follow in the same footsteps. All tracks feature on the special deluxe edition of his smash hit debut album ‘What A Time To Be Alive’, released November 8th.
2020
In November 2019, Walker confirmed he had begun working on his second studio album. Following this, in early 2020, What a Time to Be Alive achieved platinum accreditation by the British Phonographic Industry for sales of over 300,000 units in the UK.
As part of "Royal Carols: Together at Christmas", Tom Walker performed "For Those Who Can't Be Here" with Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge playing piano.
