Rotana Hotel Management Corporation (Rotana) was founded in 1992, by a partnership between two visionary thinkers, Nasser Al Nowais and Selim El Zyr.

Operating as Rotana, it opened its first property, the Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi in 1993 and is today one of the leading hotel management companies within the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Turkey.

Rotana's plans to grow from the two properties it started in 1993 to a total of 80 by 2022. The company emerged from the distribution company Costello's Health Distributors, founded in 1986 by brothers Tony and Michael Costello. Huda Beauty is a cosmetics line launched in 2013 by American businesswoman and makeup artist Huda Kattan with her older sister Mona Kattan, who initially helped by financially contributing to the setup of the business.
