Abraham Flexner (1866-1959) was a scientist and founder of the Institute for Advanced Study. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Flexner attended Louisville Male High School and later, Harvard University. Flexner is widely recognized for the Flexner Report, which played a critical role in shaping medical education in the United States.
During his lifetime, Flexner married Anne Laziere Crawford and had a successful career as a scientist. On September 21, 1959, he passed away in Falls Church, Virginia.
