German rabbi and scholar
Abraham Geiger (born May 24, 1810, in Frankfurt) was a German historian and Rabbi. He held citizenship in both Germany and the German Reich. Geiger was educated at the University of Bonn.
Abraham Geiger was the founder of the Hochschule für die Wissenschaft des Judentums, an institution dedicated to Jewish knowledge and studies. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Geiger was the father of Ludwig Geiger, who became a notable figure in his own right.
Geiger passed away in Berlin on October 23, 1874, leaving behind a legacy in the fields of Jewish history, education, and religious leadership.
