Abraham Isaac Kook

Abraham Isaac Kook (1865-1935) was a rabbi, philosopher, poet, and Rosh yeshiva, who held citizenships in both the Ottoman Empire and Mandatory Palestine. He was born in Latvia and had Latvian nationality. Kook studied at the prestigious Volozhin yeshiva.

In addition to his rabbinical roles, Kook was an influential philosopher and poet, specializing in religious philosophy. He is best known for his notable work, Orot.

Kook passed away in Jerusalem in 1935. He had a child named Zvi Yehuda Kook.
