Aether Diamonds uses captured carbon dioxide from the air and transforms it into diamonds.
Aether Diamonds
Aether Diamonds creates diamonds alchemized from the air. The company makes and sells diamond rings, necklaces, and accessories. Aether’s first collection consists of diamond engagement rings (from the traditional to asymmetrical), wedding bands, diamond studs, extravagant 'ear jacket' cuffs, bracelets, geometric necklaces, and more. Aether Diamond introduces the future of fine jewelry, designed for humans and the planet. They create the world’s first positive-impact and truly sustainable diamonds that are alchemized from air and hand-set in responsibly sourced metals. The company always makes certified positive-impact diamonds from the air.
Each Aether piece defines the highest standards for responsible social and environmental practices, always prioritizing the wellbeing of life on earth. It is not under hazardous working conditions, with no unfair wages, no conflicts funded, and no earth uprooted. Aether diamonds are physically and chemically identical to mined diamonds, except they don’t come from deep inside the earth. Instead, the diamonds are transformed from excess carbon pollution in the atmosphere that would otherwise contribute to global warming.
For Aether Diamonds, the process essentially goes first by CO2 being scrubbed from the air using direct capture technology, where it’s pushed through a filter and converted into methane, the raw hydrocarbon material that will eventually become a diamond. All other lab-grown diamonds use carbon that is sourced from fossil fuels through oil drilling and fracking. It is then placed in a reactor, where it grows atom by atom into a stone. All the energy used to power the growth of the company's creations is from clean, sustainable sources. The entire process takes three to four weeks, then the raw diamond is sent to be cut, polished, and set into one of Aether’s sleek, architectural designs.
For every one carat diamond, Aether Diamonds removes 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The diamonds also aren’t carbon-neutral, they’re carbon-negative, where the company actually removes carbon pollution from the atmosphere with every single diamond they create.100% of the energy required from the start to finish process comes from renewable and low-emissions sources which, despite their carbon-neutrality, doesn’t hinder Aether’s carbon-negative footprint.
Aether Diamonds commits to a minimum H color grade (not colorless, but white to the eye) and minimum VS2 clarity (Very Slightly Included) across the board, which means every piece will be in the top 2% for diamond quality in the world. The details of the pieces include a plant-derived ‘ultra suede’ on the exterior, FSC-certified recycled paper structures, and an interior made from sustainable wool felt, all but the recyclable exterior is biodegradable.
