Alec Radford is a machine learning developer and researcher at OpenAI, focusing on natural language processing and computer vision. Radford has made significant contributions to AI research, publishing papers on deep convolutional generative adversarial networks, the original paper describing OpenAI's first GPT model, and the development of the sparse transformer. Papers authored or co-authored by Radford have been presented at prestigious conferences and published in journals, including NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, and Nature.
Radford attended Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering. Before joining OpenAI, he cofounded the AI company Indico with Slater Victoroff, Madison May, and Diana Yuan in 2014. While at Indico Radford, he held the head of research position.
