Aleksandr Andronov (born Alexander Alexandrovich Andronov on November 4, 1901) was a Russian and Soviet physicist, mathematician, mechanic, and politician. Born in Moscow, Andronov held citizenship in both the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union.
He was educated at Moscow State University and influenced the fields of physics and mathematics through his work. He was also a doctoral advisor to Sergei Alexandrovich Zhevakin. His own doctoral advisor was Leonid Mandelstam.
Andronov's contributions to his field were recognized with the award of the Order of the Red Star. He passed away on October 31, 1952, in Nizhny Novgorod.
