Alekseevka is a city in Russia, the administrative center of the Alekseevsky district (urban district) of Belgorod region. Until 1954, the town was part of Voronezh Oblast. Day of the City (urban district) - the third Sunday in August, celebrated annually.
Geography
Alekseevka is the easternmost town in the region. It is located 180 km east of Belgorod, on the southern edge of the Central Russian Upland, on the Tikhaya Sosna River (a tributary of the Don).
Founding in 1685
Alekseevka was founded as a settlement in 1685 (according to other information - in 1691, both dates are based on oral legends and are subject to further research) on the territory of Userdsky uyezd by Ukrainians (Cherkasses).
