Alfred, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1844-1900) was a member of the royal family of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. He was born on August 6, 1844, at Windsor Castle, the second son of Queen Victoria and Albert, Prince Consort. Alfred held the title of Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
Throughout his lifetime, Alfred fathered multiple children, including Marie of Romania, Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, and Mariya Edinburgskaya. He later passed away on July 30, 1900, at Schloss Rosenau in Coburg.
