AllStripes is a company providing a platform for collecting and maintaining a clinical information database on rare diseases. RDMD was founded by Nancy Yu and Onno Faber in 2017. The company aims to provide firsthand patient information on rare diseases for treatment research purposes by commercial entities. It is based in San Francisco, California.
AllStripes operates through recruiting rare medical condition patients, such as those with neurofibromatosis 1 and 2 (NF1, NF2) diseases, Hunter syndrome, and inclusion body myositis (IBM). These patients participate by providing medical records regarding their condition, and AllStripes sells thise information to pharmaceutical companies for research and development purposes. In return, patients receive access to a mobile application that organizes information about their diseases and appropriate treatment recommendations.
RDMD has managed to raise $3.1 million in capital from a seed round held in August 2018. During this round, RDMD received funding from investors such as Healthcare Co-op, Lux Capital, and Garuda Ventures.
