Alla Sergeevna Demidova (born September 29, 1936, Moscow) is a Soviet and Russian theater and film actress, master of the artistic word (reader), teacher. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1984). Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1977).
Demidova gained wide popularity at the Taganka Theater and entered the history of Russian art as "one of the most significant and stylish modern Russian actresses". Many critics noted the wide stylistic range of the actress, the independence and courage of her creative decisions, the ability to highlight classical images in a new way, each time showing "a subtle sense of a literary portrait, the author's style of the recreated era".
Alla Demidova, the author of nine books and the organizer of her own experimental theater, still performing unusual literary and poetic programs, enjoys cult popularity; she gained a reputation as a modern “symbol of intelligence”, touching “the sacred phenomena of the spiritual life of society”.
