American historian
Allen Weinstein (September 1, 1937 - June 18, 2015) was an American historian, archivist, and diplomat born in New York City. He was the founder of the National Endowment for Democracy and held several other significant occupations, including roles with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems and as the Archivist of the United States. Weinstein passed away in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Allen Weinstein had United States citizenship and was an alumnus of City College of New York, Yale University, and DeWitt Clinton High School. Throughout his career, Weinstein held various positions, including historian, archivist, and diplomat.
