Metamizole sodium (novolat. Metamizol natrii, Metamizole sodium, in Russia is better known as "analgin") is a drug, analgesic and antipyretic from the group of pyrazolones in the ampirone sulfonate family of drugs. Withdrawn from circulation in many countries due to the risk of developing agranulocytosis
