Ananda Networks is a developer of innovative network security designed to replace traditional cybersecurity approaches to network security. The company's networking services are decentralized cybersecurity webs that can monitor and control networks remotely and without the need to set up a cloud server in any fixed location. This allows organizations to create their own private networks that offer end-to-end encryption and provide native zero-trust networking and micro-segmentation.
Ananda Networks' customers can use the network for their distributed workforce needs, such as connecting remote teams to on-premise development environments or multiple cloud environments. The company was co-founded by Adi Ruppin and Elad Rave in 2019 and is headquartered in San Francisco.
Ananda Network's network platform works to provide infrastructure that can converge the key security and networking aspects into a single layer without need for hardware deployments. This is to allow users to deploy a network that is fully secured and managed and offers an ease of use similar to creating a Slack channel, according to Ananda Networks. The network is a virtualized, distributed network capable of connecting all nodes regardless of physical location or network configuration.
The network infrastructure is software-based and fully cloud-managed, allowing users to define multiple private, virtual networks for users, devices, servers, and cloud services. It also offers centralized solutions such as firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and SASE backhaul traffic or force it through their own data centers. The network includes authentication and authorization tools to ensure only authorized users are on a given network, and no unknown traffic can reach a network. Further, the network offers end-to-end encryption, giving any two nodes a secure and lightweight tunnel between nodes.
The company's platform offers solutions for remote work, connecting branch offices, IoT and Edge computing, and cloud transformation. Furthermore, the network solutions works to offer an alternative to VPN, SD-WAN, and MPLS to further reduce complexity and cost. As well, it offers network simplification and appliance elimination for a software-based and simpler network alternative.
Ananda Networks works to offer faster network services, and beyond speed also better quality networks compared to other VPN solutions and even work to outperform the internet. This is in part achieved by the protocols Ananda Networks uses that the company has worked to optimize for WAN, such as VPNs, which previous were thought to be too noisy and unreliable previously. Furthermore, the network is a distributed network mesh that can connect users through an intermediate gateway to eliminate backhaul, and allows Ananda Networks to achieve shorter and faster paths from one node to another. Another part of the speed of Ananda's networks is the use of multi-cloud network or relays which, combined with machine learning, work to optimize the network traffic to find the fastest route through any number of nodes and relays.
Ananda works to secure the company's networks through end-to-end encryption with any two nodes establishing their own secure tunnel. The network uses zero-trust networking, which means unless an organization sets a policy otherwise, no connections are allowed and no ports are open on any individual devices unless authorized. Further, the network remains visible only to members and Ananda works to keep those networks invisible to anyone outside of the network. In a given network, administrators can create isolated network segments to minimize potential risk from a single compromised user or devices. In addition to providing network users access control for connecting remote users, branches, data centers, and clouds, Ananda can secure traffic as it leaves the network, intended to remove the need for backhaul of such traffic over a VPN anymore.
