Andreas Antonopoulos is a public speaker, teacher, writer, and a bitcoin and open blockchain consultant. After moving to the United States from Greece, he co-founded and managed a technology research company, with a focus on advising company executives on networking, security, data centers, and cloud computing. Antonopoulos holds two patents in networking and security and degrees in computer science, data communications, and distributed systems from the University College in London. In 1990, Antonopoulos began teaching interconnected topics under Informational Technology.
In 2014, he was appointed as a teaching fellow with the University of Nicosia. In this role, he assisted in developing the curriculum and co-taught the Introduction to Digital Currencies course, offered as a MOOC, through the University. He writes articles about security, bitcoin, cloud computing, and data centers.
Antonopoulos published two technical books for programmers, Mastering Bitcoin and Mastering Ethereum. He also published The Internet of Money series of books, which focuses on the social, political, and economic importance and implications of these technologies. He is a host on the Let’s Talk Bitcoin podcast and also released his own podcast called Unscrypted. He has appeared as an expert witness in worldwide legal cases and regulatory hearings like the Australian Senate Banking Committee and the Canadian Senate Commerce, Banking and Finance Committee.
