JOSÉ ANTONIO DOMÍNGU BANDERAS
Spanish and American actor.
He was born August 10, 1960 in Malaga (Spain), in a middle-class family. His mother was a teacher, his father was a police officer.
Until the age of fourteen he dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player, seriously engaged in soccer until he broke his leg.
He participated in theater productions of the Malaga Youth Theater and as part of the troupe traveled all over Spain.
During one of these trips to the director noticed him Pedro Almodovar and invited him to star in the film "The Labyrinth of Passion (Laberinto Pasione, 1982).
He liked the young actor and in subsequent films, he gave Banderas the leading roles. Outwardly interesting, slender young man appeared as a strange, endowed with the gift of foresight fan of his teacher, ready to take on the killings they committed ( "Matador"), a little crazy young man, literally force the love kidnapped them porn star, played not without grace fragile and sexy Victoria Abril ( "Tie Me Up!"), or passionate, extraordinary hero of the tape "Law of Desire," the object of desire to women.
Antonio Banderas, who came to the U.S. in 1992 to participate in the movie "Kings Mambo," he was aware that should "downgrade", content with occasional roles, because the status of "Spanish star" here, overseas, virtually nothing means. It was necessary to improve my English, somehow "hook" the American public and generally "start from scratch". And this choice was unmistakable. He appeared in the movie "Philadelphia" in a small role of a friend of the main character, who was dying of AIDS, played by the popular Tom Hanks. Despite the fact that Banderas was here "on the sidelines" of the plot, he attracted attention and soon got a more interesting role in the then acclaimed film "Interview with the Vampire" directed by Neil Jordan. Thus began his ascent to fame.
Now Banderas star of the first magnitude, and the proposal poured one after another. Banderas played the main character in a large-scale production of the classic adventure story "Zorro" (produced by Spielberg, directed by Rodriguez), met again on the set with Madonna in "Evita" about a legendary figure of Argentine history Eva Peron, Banderas played the role of the idol of the 60′s Che Guevara.
The actor does not break ties with Spanish cinema as well: "Two is Too Much" (directed by Fernando Trueba), "Summer Rain", "The Skin I Live In" and others.
