Aplo (originally named SheeldMarket) is an EU-licensed cryptocurrency broker. The Paris-based company was founded in 2019 by CEO Oliver Yates, CTO Arnaud Carrere, COO Simon Douyer, and Credit Suisse VP Jacques Lolieux, who also serves as Alpo's VP of Trading and Research. Aplo offers a crypto trading platform that allows users to trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, and a multitude of other different cryptocurrencies. The platform is open to businesses worldwide, with the goal of allowing them to diversify their investment portfolios.
Aplo has raised a total of $11 million over two funding rounds. The company most recently closed a $10 million series A round on October 12, 2021. Alexis Bonillo, Atomico, Axeleo, DraperDragon, Pascal Gauthier and Semantic Ventures participated in the round.
