Aragon is a suite of applications and services that enable new forms of global communities.
Communities can organize around capital assets, currency, or tokens, which will increase in value as more people hold and use that asset to participate in the community.
Aragon not only provides basic financial tools like tokenization but can create reproducible and broadly applicable templates for defining the boundaries of a community and flowing value to contributors over the internet without traditional intermediaries.
Aragon is a decentralized governance platform built on Ethereum that allows anyone to create and manage organizations.
More specifically, you can create Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) complete with basic organization functions such as table management, token transfer, voting, role assignment, payroll, fundraising, and accounting. In principle, Aragon wants to drop intermediates (remove intermediaries within the traditional organizational setting). And most importantly, their platform is very easy to use.
Peculiarities
-Decentralized arbitration
The platform will have a decentralized judicial mechanism for dispute resolution, which aims to resolve issues related to humanity that arise when running a DAO (i.e., disputes between two parties). ANT token holders get to vote on the ground rules that the arbitrage system will adhere to, thereby exploiting their network effects.
-Modernizability
The central concept of modernization in blockchain is modularity. Aragon recognizes that different organizations may have different needs, and to meet user requirements, they created Aragon as a modular system that allows you to build additional functionality on top of the Aragon platform.
-Simplicity
More importantly, the Aragon platform will not require technical programming skills for anyone who can create smart contracts for their DAOS, thus simplifying the entire process. This simplification can accelerate mass adoption of the technology.
For platform users, ANT tokens provide an opportunity to interact with the platform. In particular, tokens allow you to participate in decision-making regarding the proposed services and vote on the distribution of capital and investments, network upgrades, etc.
There are currently 32,948,091 tokens in circulation, and a total of 39,609,524 tokens will be issued in the near future. Aragon uses a Continuous Token Model, which is a model where token minting will continue as needed. There will be a limited number of tokens only until the Aragon Network is developed. In the future, the release of tokens will be regulated by monetary policy and inflation.
The company practices the buyback of tokens not to manipulate the price, but for its own needs - payment of rewards, bounty programs, prizes at the hackathon.
Competitors
Among the competitors of the platform, one can consider the company Otonomos, which offers the opportunity to completely transfer the process of establishing companies and all corporate procedures to the blockchain. However, Otonomos only provides its services in Singapore, Hong Kong, the Cayman Islands and the Virgin Islands.
Aragon is a young team with a good background and a broad vision of not only what they create, but also with a full understanding of the development of the entire ecosystem. There is a high probability that they will carry out their plans to create decentralized autonomous organizations.
