Arizona Coyotes is a hockey team of the national hockey league founded in 1996.
A professional ice hockey club playing in the National Hockey League. The club is based in Glendale, Arizona, USAО. Until 1996, the club played in Winnipeg under the name "Winnipeg Jets". After the club went bankrupt in 2009 and became the property of the NHL, it was repeatedly reported about the possible relocation of the franchise to another city. In July 2013, the Glendale City Council approved the long-term lease of the Coyotes' home arena to Renaissance Sports and Entertainment. In August 2013, the NHL sold the team to the IceArizona Acquisition Co LLC group of companies. The new owners of the club confirmed that the team will remain in Glendale and will be renamed the Arizona Coyotes from the 2014/2015 season.[2] Before the 2014 draft, the team officially changed its name. On October 12, 2014, Andrew Barroway, a businessman from Philadelphia, an investment fund manager, acquired 51% of the club's shares, thereby becoming the main owner of the team.
